Chris Coggins: Yes, it's just using a dremel on the nails. I bought one on Amazon with a bunch of attachments for about 20.00. It's supposed to be better for the dogs, just literally sands down their nails as opposed to squeezing them with the clippers. And, you don't have to worry as much about hitting the quick. Here's a great site that tells you how to do it, there's a link to the left of the page:http://homepages.udayton.edu/~merensjp/doberdawn/i.......Show more

Darnell Cutliff: Well, I have two amazing toys. I have a Mini Fox Terrier and a Mini Pomeranian. They are both amazing breeds and beautiful. The fox terrier is smarter and has short hair, while the pomeranian is very playful and beautiful. So it depends what kind of dog you are looking for! Good luck! :)
Seema Hosfeld: You have to keep it dry. You can get an elizabethan collar (lampshade looking thing) at a petstore, or else bandage it carefully and change the bandage OFTEN.
Elvie Drumgoole: My dog has what looks like a rash on her front paw. She is licking ! it quite a bit and I think this is probably irritating it more! . I have been using bag Balm on it, but it doesn't look like it is getting any better. Someone suggested using Aloe Vera, but I am not sure how safe that will be because she is still licking it. I have already called her vet, but can't get her in until early next week. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. ...Show more
Eldridge Rieves: papillon
Shan Lanen: You could buy a 30 foot leash and have her on it whenever you throw a toy. When you want her to come back with it give the leash a gentle tug and praise her if she brings it back. You can also look up Zak George on YouTube, I know he has a video or two about teaching a dog to fetch.
Hunter Beech: Bulldog.
Lu Snide: your toy poodle, Maltese, bishons , westies, these do not shed and fun and great for a family.
Georgina Natal: When you clip dogs nails they come out really sharp and jagged. So they grind them down to make them smooth. :) Its much easier on the thighs when they jump all ov! er you when you go to pick them up!
Debora Soliani: Basically, instead of cutting the nails with clippers, they will use something that basically sands the nails down. We got a pedipaws (or peticure I don't remember which) for our dog. She loves it. I still have scars from past times we used nail clippers. She hated clippers and would -freak- out. But with this thing, she has actually fallen asleep while we are grinding her nails.
Shamika Schools: Here is how to teach a retrieve. Read both articles before working on it;http://www.bullwrinkle.com/training/retrieve.htmhttp://www.dog-obedience-training-review.com/fetch...In order to teach a "speak" command, get some small treats and tease your dog into barking, saying "speak". When he "speaks", give him the treat. Once he speaks everytime you ask him to, then start fading the treat by treating only every other time, then every 3rd time, etc., until he speaks on command without the need of a treat...! .Show more
Curt Broadhead: I would say go for the Shih Tzu! They ! are the cutest, the best personailty-wise and they don't shed :)I am getting a little girl Shih Tzu in December :)Other toy breeds:MalteseToy PoodlePomeranian(But none as nice as Shih Tzu)...Show more
Luana Carothers: Grinding is really simple, all it does is dull the nails down. You can buy a grinder for about 20 bucks at petsmart. They are called pedipaw. Now, you're dog might be scared of it.
Chris Wilczewski: Or you can use a heavy grit nail file just takes longer but if your dog likes pedicures...like mine does its a great bonding experience I guess or it means your just to cheap to go out and buy one like me. : )
Neville Dautremont: Don't buy the Peticure or whatever it's called, it breaks down a lot and if you google it it has horrible reviews. Get a Dremel. I have an orange one (forget how many rpm) that's cordless and good for the beginner (the highest setting on it is good for grinding). I just got a higher rpm Dremel with a cord, the lowest set! ting on that is better than the other one. Again, though, not for beginners. My technique is to grind down the sides of the nail to make a point, and then grind that down to the rest of the nail (to make it square again). It takes a lot less time than just pushing the grinder onto the end of the nail and waiting for 15-30 seconds! It also makes the nail a bit more rounded than just normal grinding (which makes the nail "square" with raggedy sides)....Show more

Emerita Sciandra: I can't name any
Maurice Breuning: grinding is like filling for us but with a drill type of instrument its better for them it doesn't hurt like clipping can.I would suggest a pedi paw you can do it your self and save that extra money for dog treats.
Alise Rutgers: please explain this to me, is this something I can do at home?
Burt Cheevers: In the first shot she looks like! a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. In the others a little harder to tell. R! occo's brother is the same colouring as her with one blue eye also. A few moments ago someone posted a piccy with a very similar dog to yours. It was a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and they asked *What breed is this*, seeing if anyone could guess. And everyone was saying the same answers as here, Pit mix, bulldog mix etc Im betting you have a staffy or staffy mix on your hands. I'd love to see how tall she is. Staffies are generally around 16inches high at withers. Mmmm names. Im not so good with names but I do like Laney, Maggie, Ziggy........Show more
Ronald Moehr: They sell a grinder called Pedi Paws that you can use at home. You can use a regular rotary grinder, but the Pedi Paws has a nail guard that helps prevent cutting the nail too short.I have one, and have used it on several dogs. I like it better than the clipper. I seem to quick the dog with the clipper from time to time. I havent had that problem with the grinder....Show more

Stanton Degregorio: Yes you can do it at home. I have a grinder for my dogs. It's a cordless Dremel grinder and you can get one at Walmart for about $20.http://www.jemarpet.com/images/Dremel%20DT761.jpgGrinding eliminates jagged and splitting nails that are caused by clippers. You can still grind too close, so you still have to be careful, but the chances of getting the quick are a lot less....Show more
Tana Dumoulin: I have a chow chow/golden retriever mix and when she was a puppy, we taught her to sit, lie down, shake, but we never got around to teaching her how to fetch. She is 4 years old now and I was wondering if there are some good techniques to help teach my dog how to fetch.
Renita Sefton: Personally i would say go with a pomeranian, but i am biase! d because i have one. They have a huge amount of energy and playfulnes! s so they would probably go well with your chocolate lab!One warning though...please make sure that the breed of toy you decide to go with is a decent size. I have a friend who recently rescued a yorkie, but she already owned a doberman/lab mix and they definitely did not work together size wise. The yorkie was to small and when they played my friend was terrified that something was going to happen to the yorkie....so now needless to say i have a pomeranian and a yorkie. ha ha...Show more
Arlene Maycumber: Our neighbor used to have a 'tea cup' terrier. They LOVED him! He was a great dog. I do not know how it would be with a larger dog though...
