Clare Hoard: well, in some books, they have no quotation marks, but they are past tense first person (I thought, I yelled, etc) but my book is present (I think, I yell, etc) so i just want to be sure...
Libby Berkovitch: I'm pretty positive that you use quotation marks, even for thoughts. It's what I've always been told to do, anyway.
Lenard Ginyard: Honestly, it is up to you. I've read books and essays where authors used quotations in thoughts and some work where authors did not. Neither way is wrong, but if you have very minimal internal speaking in your story and want to really emphasize that it's a thought, you can always use italics. If not, quotations would be fine, especially if you have a lot of unspoken thoughts.
Janeen Perona: Thank you Devon :) So it would Be like: "Yeah right as if she cares," I think.???
Timmy Bustard: oki dokes but what if i have more thoughts then spoken words? can I still put the works in italics?
