Julieta Suleiman: Yes..it is definitely ok (and even encouraged) to work while on financial aid. The purpose of financial aid is to help those who don't make enough money pay for college. However, some people do abuse it and mooch off the system xP
Alisia Sutphen: Yes u can work. U just may get less money for college next year since it'll show on ur tax return u made more money.
Noah Deni: Yes it is okay to work ... i received financial aid enough to get through community college while i was working. as long as you aren't making over 80,000 or something your fine.
Rocio Karvis: Yes. On your FAFSA you can indicate you are interest in Federal work study. Say you do that and your award says 1000.00, that would be 500.00 per semester. The college will have job listings of jobs at the college or in the community that you look through, apply for, interview for and work at. They will work around your college schedule, not too many hours a week and once you ea! rn 500.00 in the semester the job ends. You will do the same for the second semester. You do not get the money up front. You get the job and earn it and get paid like any other job at least monthly. If you dont want to d that then you can get a job. My daughter works near her college. I do advise you to work only 12-15 hours a week at minimum wage because making more than that can affect your financial aid....Show more
