Can you call people on Xbox Live?

Norma Marsalis: You cannot call people on Xbox Live, but you can invite them to a party and do cross-voice chat. When you invite your friend to a party, you can talk to them for as long as you want even if you guys aren't playing the same game. So if you are playing gears of war single player and you want to talk to a friend that is playing modern warfare 2 multiplayer, you can send a party invite to that friend and chat with them while playing. But the only thing is, you will need Xbox Live Gold to be in parties. You cannot be in parties with Xbox Live Silver....Show more
