We need a small (used) car that will fit 2 car seats... what are your suggestions?

Marcia Cheathan: Any Honda accord or civic. They hold their value forever. We just bought a new Honda civic (of course you don't need to get a new one) and it fits two car seats just fine.Honda has really high safety standards. And they get excellent gas mileage. I think right now my husband's getting about 40 mpg on the highway. What I WOULDN'T go with is Hyundai accent (you can't fit full-size car seats comfortably in it) or a Kia- they don't hold their value, and dont' last long....Show more

Venetta Coulbourne: How about a Honda Civic, Accord. Toyota Camry, VW Jetta, Dodge Neon, Scion TC, Chevy Cavalier... those are all fairly small cars which if you buy one used can be a good deal. I don't know how much you want to spend or if you want a 2 door or 4 door car... just some ideas.

Helen Zafar: just about any car out there will hold two car seats comfortably. What you need to do is research and see which one you like the most and has a good safety rating.I! know you mentioned getting a used car. Thats great but sometimes when you buy new or lease a new car your payment can be lower then a used car so make sure where ever you go that you ask them about there special that is going on. Hopefully they will be totally honest with you. My husband is a Chevy car salesman so I of course like a lot of the chevy cars but I have liked them before my husband even sold them. For a small car that I like: I like the chevy mailibu For a family car I love the chevy impala --My cousin has one and he flipped his car and he came out with not even a scratch so I really think they are safe. You can probably find a really good one used. My husband and I are looking at this one.If you have any questions you can email me and I will ask him for you. Good Luck at buying or Leasing your car. Have fun. It is stressful but have fun....Show more

Edwina Fu: i agree id also go with a honda civic or an accord but civics are better

Sammy T! abatt: Buick is a great family car. It's got lots of leg room ! and it's comfy. They aren't always pricey and they are great running cars. Cheap to fix and they fit lots of people inside. They are great for safety. They can also come in stylish styles but I like the "grandpa" style of car because it seems more rich looking.A Camry is a good option as well. Nice and small but big in side. Good on gas and you might be able to get over 400 k on a car even an old one....Show more

Nell Dipiero: toyota camry... they are great and will last forever... i just recently sold my old one (1992) had 265k miles and it still ran great... i now have a 2001 camry and it has plenty room... i have a small child and her car seat fits great in it... and has plenty room for another

Mee Blumenfeld: I have an over 10 year old Neon that fits two car seats just fine.It should get a fair bit of work done on the steering and suspension at this point but its not really worth it. However its never given us many problems. My step dad has a newer neon as ! well and his runs great (which is saying a LOT considering how he drives)So I would recommend one if you see one in good repair with reasonable mileage. Also there are some seats that are smaller than others like the Radianhttp://www.carseatdata.org/cnt/resources/car-seat-......Show more

Joeann Hoyt: I have a 2004 Dodge Neon. It holds both of my kids seats comfortably with room to spare. Best thing first off, make sure the baby is behind the driver and the oldest is behind the passenger. Its the safest way to place them. I would say, go to your local dealer, bring your car seats with you and "try it before you buy it". Make sure the seats fit in properly without being crunched together. Although it is nice to have them close together, its really not safe. Happy Car Shopping!...Show more

Georgia Dees: i have a cavalier, and if i can fit 2 car seats of my sisters kids in there with 4 dachshunds you should be ok. but i cant go anywhere without my dogs. i cant have! kids so my dogs are my babies!

Barton Slisz: I agree that the Ho! nda accord is a good car you can also check into a toyota camry. The chevy malibu has room and is a cheaper car but nice looking and has certain safety features. Honestly though for the price of a good used car you could probably get a mini van that was a late 90's model with lower miles, my sister just got one and it is nice she spent about 6000 on it. Just check the area lots and you local classifieds.
