Something to kill bacteria and virus in laundry?

Joellen Zorrilla: BLEACH! Bleach kills germs and bacteria. If you are that worried about virus and bacteria, run the empty wash on hot with two cap fulls of bleach for a cycle before you do your load of laundry. Good day care centers use bleach and water to wipe down toys and furniture at the end of the day to get rid of germs. Coleman Senn: Disinfect your clothes by adding a solution into your washing machine. You can easily disinfect clothing by adding one cup of baking soda and one cup of white vinegar into the washing machine. Ensure that there is water in the machine to prevent it from fizzing. You can also invest in a washing machine with a sanitizing cyc! le, these washing machines use high temperatures to eliminate germs. Make sure to look for a seal from NSF International, a safety and health organization. Pei Heatherly: Bleach will disinfect white cottons. But some white fabrics cannot be bleached. If you add some Lysol concentrate (not the household cleaner -- I've posted a link below) the washer, it will safely disinfect all laundry. It will not fade or ruin colors as bleach can do. I buy Lysol concentrate at Walmart. It is sold with cleaners. I'm sure it is available at other stores too. Hope this helps!...Show more

Luke Gacusan: I think the heat of the dryer will kill most bacteria and virus.
