Irma Poiter: Horoscope refers to a look at the "hour." It refers to the chart that is created at any particular moment, which is why I put "hour" in quotes. A forecast is a term usually associated with Western astrology to point to the analysis, interpretation and free will of the individual for a particular period of time in the future. It's based on the natal chart (the horoscope).These days, I suppose, "horoscope" has a broader meaning to direct newspaper and magazine readers to look at a particular section for brief, published "forecasts" that are usually based on the Sun sign. I have heard the word "horoscope" also is used in Eastern hemispheric publications for the same purpose only related to the Moon sign. Rhett Kaines: well, a forecast tells you the future like a monthly forecast based on assumptions, but a horoscope tells you the future based on the ! position of the planets. that's why its updated daily. because planets change daily or weekly ;)I dont know how to get it across, but the difference lies on what they base the predictions on. for horoscope they have to look at the positions of the planets that is why its very hard to find the right ones, but for the forecast, they just assume depending on their know-how in other words its a bit vague.
